The 5,000-acre (2,000 ha) estate is in Highclere in Hampshire, England, about 5 miles (8 km) south of Newbury, Berkshire, and 9.5 miles (15 km) north of Andover, Hampshire.

Highclere Castle is set amidst 1,000 acres of spectacular parkland, designed for the 1st Earl of Carnarvon by the famous 18th century landscape gardener "Capability" Brown. There are six 18th century follies framing views from which to admire the landscape.
A few days at Highclere Castle
Highclere Castle is about 4 miles South. The exit off the A34 is signed Tothill and Burghclere and there is also a brown and white tourist board sign clearly showing Highclere Castle on the A34. The slip road off the A34 leads to a roundabout and from there on just follow the clearly marked brown and white Highclere Castle signs into the Estate.
